What is Positive Discipline ?
Positive Discipline® teaches young people from an early age to become responsible, respectful, caring and resourceful members of their communities.
The Positive Discipline model is based on the work of Alfred Adler and Rudolf Dreikurs, called the Adlerian Psychology.
It was designed by Jane Nelsen and Lynn Lott to give parents, educators and leaders tools that make them feel effective and confident.
Positive Discipline® teaches important social and life skills in a manner that is deeply respectful and encouraging for both children and parents.
♦♦♦
Insights and tools are ready to use, pragmatic and powerful.
You can get immediate results and long-term benefits.
Positive Discipline® is based on the understanding that the key to positive parenting is not punishment, but mutual respect and encouragement.
♦♦♦
These soft skills are an invaluable asset to thrive as adults in our personal and professional lives.
There is no age limit to learn and practice .
And no restriction in terms of relationships or environnement where to apply.
Positive Discipline 5 criteria
According to Jane Nelsen, the five criteria of effective discipline are :
Helps children feel a sense of connection.
= belonging and significance
Is mutually respectful and encouraging.
= is kind and firm at the same time
Is effective long-term.
= considers what the child is thinking, feeling, learning, and deciding about themself and their world – and what to do in the future to survive or to thrive.
Teaches important social and life skills.
= respect (self and others), concern for others, mistake handling, problem-solving, and cooperation as well as the skills to contribute to the home, school, or larger community.
Invites children to discover how capable they are.
= encourages the constructive use of personal power and autonomy.
These criteria are also applicable to adult relationships.

Where did we get the crazy idea that in order for children to do better, we have to make them feel worse first? Children do better when they feel better.

Who am I ?
I am Laurence CASALA, coach and Positive Discipline certified Trainer.
I'm a mother of 3 and have been an expatriate for over 10 years. I currently live in Bremen, Germany.
I discovered Positive Discipline® in 2017, at a time when I was feeling very frustrated and helpless in my role as a mom.
After going through the difficult transition from working Parisian girl to expatriate mom at home, I realized how much I lacked the tools and room to maneuver on a daily basis to accompany my growing children during each new phase of our expatriations, as well as to manage my ADD child.
Encountering this encouraging, structured approach, respectful of my needs and those of my children, gave me a direction to follow with simple, concrete tools. Confidence and serenity came to my home, and to me.
I'm convinced that all parents, educators and leaders should have access to it.
Since 2018, I've been passionately introducing Positive Discipline® to parents, students and their teachers in the various countries I've been lucky enough to live in.

"Children need encouragement like plants need water."
